Bangkok-Chiang Mai by Train for Overnight
Start your day with a delightful 1-hour river cruise along the Chao Phraya River, exploring the enchanting canals known as 'khlongs'. Crossing into Laos, we are accompanied by additional local guides, as required by the government, for the duration of our time in the country. Step aboard a leisurely slow boat for a captivating 2-day journey along the majestic Mekong River to Luang Prabang. Relish the unhurried pace, immersing yourself in village life and savoring the breathtaking scenery that unfolds along the river. The river boat offers a modest setup with a covered roof, open sides for fresh air, and basic amenities such as a toilet. Relax in the front seats or find a cozy spot at the small open area in the back, where you can nap on a mat, play cards, read, or enjoy lunch. After approximately 6 hours, dock at the charming town of Pak Beng for an overnight stay. As you wander the main streets, you'll encounter Hmong and tribal Thai people, and local vendors offering a splendid array of textiles and handicrafts.
Pakbeng-Mekong River- Luang Prabang
Embark on the next leg of our journey as we rejoin the boat and set sail towards the captivating Pak Ou Caves.
