  • Arrive in Kunming
    Welcome to Kunming, the Spring City of China! Upon arrival at the Kunming airport/train station, the local tour guide and driver will meet you in the arrival hall and escort you to your hotel. You'll begin your journey to the diverse and captivating province of Yunnan from the capital city, Kunming.
    If time permits, visit some local tea markets and taste a cup of tea.

    In the morning, we will take 1-hour speed train to Xiaowandong Station, meet your dirver and local guide, we transfer to Lancang-Mekong River, the upper reach of Mekong River in China. Pay a visit to The Xiaowan Dam (小湾大坝) is an arch dam on the Lancang (Mekong) River in Nanjian County, Yunnan Province, southwest China. The primary purpose of the dam is hydroelectric power generation and it supports a 4,200 MW power station. Constructed between 2002 and 2010 by Huaneng Power International at a cost of ¥32 billion (nearly US$3.9 billion), it is the world’s second highest arch dam at 292 m (958 ft). It is also third highest among dams of all types behind Jinping-I and Nurek and the third largest hydroelectric power station in China.
    Continue the driving to Xiangzhuqing village in Xiaowan township of Fengqing County. Pay a visit to Xiangzhuqing Acient Tea Tree or Jinxiu Ancient Tea Tree(锦绣古茶树). In Xiangzhuqing village, lies a massive, ancient tree. Colloquially referred to as the Mother tea tree, this magnificent giant is about 35 feet tall (which is extremely tall for a tea tree), and is so wide that it’s said that it takes eight people holding outstretched hands to full surround the tree. Besides her gargantuan size, this tree is also remarkable for its unmatched history. This ancient tree is recorded as being over 3,200 years old, it is called “the Mother of Tea Trees”.
    Transfer to Fengqing County Town in the afternoon. Pay a visit to 3200 Tea Garden of Wyndm Hotel and do a short hiking around the tea garden.
    Drink the refine Dianhong Black tea and enjoy the tea art ceremony in Fengqing.

  • Fengqing Dianhong Black Tea Tour
    This morning, enjoy the nice view of Xiaowan Dam in Lancang-Mekong River, drive from Xiaowan Township to Fengqing. Visit Dianhong Tea Museum, former Fengqing Tea Factory and Fengqing Tea Research Center(凤庆县茶科所).
    After lunch take a tour of the Dianhong Tea Factory(凤庆县工业区滇红集团) and Anshi tea village and plantation(中国滇红诞生地安石) where you can enjoy tasting the black tea and learn about the drying process of the tea leaves and the production.
    Yunnan black tea, also known as ‘Dianhong’ (‘Dian’ is the short name for Yunnan province, ‘hong’ meaning red after the deep, red liquor of the brewed tea) is a fully oxidised tea grown high in the mountainous region of Lincang between 1680-1900 metres above sea level. Thanks to the high elevations and mild climate, the growing season in the province is long, with picking taking place from March through to November. If you’ve never tried Yunnan black tea before, then you’re in for a treat. Offering a delicate smokiness on the nose and tongue, Yunnan has layers of caramel and cocoa with light, peppery notes on the finish.

  • Fengqing-Yunxian-Dali by Speed Train
    Transfer to Yunxian Railway Station for Dali.
    Meet your local guide. After that,  you will visit the Three Pagodas in Chongshen Monastery which has a history of over 1,800 years located at the foot of Cangshan Mountain facing to the Erhai Lake. Three Pagodas are made of three ancient independent pagodas forming a symmetrical triangle.
    In the late afternoon, visit Xiaguan Tuocha Tea Factory. and then take a walk inDali Old Town. Visit Foreigner’s Street and ancient city wall.
    Dali Old Town is one of Yunnan’s most popular tourist destinations. It has historic sites, ancient buildings and temples, nearby beautiful Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, local crafts, and the “Foreigners’ Street” with Western-style restaurants and bars and English-speaking business owners. The street is popular with both foreigners and Chinese.
    In the morning, transfer to visit to Zhoucheng Old Town which is known as “Hometown of Bai People’s Tie-dye Art” to appreciate the exquisite Tie-dye in person. Tie-dye is a typical feature to present the Bai’s excellent handcraft with various colors and elegant designs. You’ll visit local indigo workshop in Zhoucheng and know the way of making.
    Head for Xizhou Town to fully appreciate Bai-style traditional architectural courtyards, taste their fragrant Three-Course Tea and explore their distinctive culture.
    After lunch, drive to Lijiang. Arrive in Lijiang and pay a visit to Dongba Culture Museum and Black Dragon Pool.
    You will be relaxed around Lijiang Old Town, a well-preserved old city of ethnic minorities with brilliant culture, is a central town of the Lijiang Autonomous County of the Naxi Ethnic Minority in Yunnan Province. Located on the plateau which is 2,400 meters above the sea level and embraced by the tree-covered Lion Mountain in the west, Elephant and Golden Row Mountains in the north, vast fertile fields in the southeast and crystal clear water running through, the old town looks like a big jade ink slab, therefore got the alias the Town of Big Ink Slab (Dayanzhen).
    After breakfast, drive about 30KM to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area. You will firstly reach Ganhaizi Meadow(3100M). Then you will take the sightseeig bus for a short visiting through the Baishuihe River. Take cable car to Spruce Meadow and hike around 30 minutes in the forest. Then take a battery cart to Blue Moon Valley.
    After lunch, you will enjoy the Impression Lijiang Ethnic Show directed by Zhang Yimou. It is held in Ganhaizi Meadow about 3100M above the sea level.
    And then, you can stroll through Baisha Old Town, which is an enchanting traditional Naxi style old town. Visit the famous doctor Ho’s son, He Shuwen in Baisha street. You will also have an option to visit Jinxiu Naxi Ethnic Embroidery School and Institute owned by Jack Chen in Baisha Old Town.
    Visit the Baisha Murals about 600 years old, which is one part of the World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO 1997.
    Walk around in Lijiang Old Town, pay a visit to the Giant Water Wheel, Bar Street, Sifang Square and the ancient architectures of Naxi ethnic people.
    From Lijiang, you’ll drive about 60KM to the First Bend of the Yangtze River with imposing gorge scenery, visit the Iron Chain Bridge ,theRed Army’s Long March Memorial Monument in the Shigu Old Town. The town of Stone Drum got its name from a large, cylindrical, marble tablet shaped like a drum. The scenery is magnificent as the road running through the Lijiang valley which is filled with wheat fields and drying haystacks.
    Visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world. With 34 rapids of the Yangtze River, it is called the Jinsha in this area because you can find gold in the river.
    Then you will enter the Tibetan cultural area and a landscape of barley fields and yaks scattered in the valleys. Arrive in Shangri La, you will be free to explore Dukezong Old Town at night.
    Today, visit the Songzanlin Monastery, the largest Tibetan monastery in Yunnan. Songzanlin Monastery has another alias – ‘the little Potala Palace ‘, so named because the whole monastery is in the traditional style with mysterious atmosphere.
    After that, pay a visit to a Tibetan Family in Hamugu Village and have Yak Butter lunch in the family.
    And afterwards, you will explore Napahai Lake and Yila Grassland. Napahai Grassland is the largest one in Shangrila. Due to the humid climate, the local grass grows faster than other areas. Every year in May, Napa grassland is green while that in other area just begins to sprout. At the beginning of June, a variety of wild flowers open and flocks and herds have fun on the grassland.
    In the late afternoon, walk around Dukezong Ancient Town, an important town of the Ancient Tea-horse Trade Caravan from Yunnan to Tibet and India. Walk up to the top of Guishan Hill or Tortoise Hill, you will see the largest Prayer Wheel of the world and have a panoramic view of shangrila county and Dukezong Ancient Town.
